Len Archibald is a Toronto-born film festival executive director, critic, advocate, writer and media producer whose work centers Black experience, independent cinema and bold, genre-bending storytelling. As Executive Director of the Windsor International Black Film Festival, Len brings a filmmaker’s eye and a curator’s passion to creating inclusive spaces where under-represented voices can be seen and heard.

As former Executive Director of multiple film festivals in the U.S., Len’s approach combines creative practice, community engagement and festival leadership: developing youth programs, mentoring emerging filmmakers, and building partnerships that expand access to film education and exhibition.

His work has been screened at most major international festivals including three of the “Big Five”: TIFF, Berlinale, and Sundance, winning 48 national and international awards. He has been nominated for 36 national film craft awards, winning thirteen including Canadian Screen, HotDocs, Directors Guild of Canada, Canadian Cinema Editors, and Gemini Awards.

His creative work focuses on social justice, the environment, and exploring constructed narrative in the observational documentary.
