An evening for the community.

Gala Night is where WIBFF gathers the filmmakers, industry, sponsors and supporters who make Black cinema in Canada possible. Red carpet, cocktails, a full seated dinner and the WIBFF Awards Ceremony recognising the best of the 2026 festival.

This year’s theme, Legacy & Liberation, runs through the evening. Programming honours the unsung heroes who have carried Black cinema forward for decades, culminating in the WIBFF Lifetime Achievement Award.

About WIBFF

A platform for Black voices, in Windsor and around the world.

WIBFF is a nonprofit annual film festival that offers an accessible format for Black filmmakers, featuring engaging and immersive workshops for the community.

It’s a platform for Black voices to share their cultures and experiences through creative art with local and global audiences, alongside fan-immersive discussions and celebratory awards.

WIBFF Youth Summer Camp.

An immersive week for young filmmakers and storytellers to learn from industry professionals, work with real equipment, and finish the week with a short film they made themselves.
